"Self-care for me and for you is connecting to something bigger than yourself."

Hello, Positivity, posse! Welcome back to The Positivity Pause Podcast. I am so excited and thrilled that you are not only taking this time to spend with me, but you are making the choice to pour into yourself, to take a moment, to be able to redefine recharge reset before you resume. This matters to your mental, emotional, and physical health so I applaud you and I welcome you.

What do we do during these pauses? This is truly a pause for self-care. In this pause, you refresh, you reset, you rejuvenate, and it allows you to resume from this place of overflow. You have filled yourself up so that you are ready for whatever is coming down the pike. Self-care for me and for you is connecting to something bigger than yourself. Starting with the “S” in self-care is about what is that place that you connect to spiritually? Where do you connect that allows you to know that there is something bigger than you?

When you connect to that thing, that entity, that God, that is bigger than you, it gives you permission to relinquish and to surrender the need, to control everything. It gives you permission to know that you are not responsible for every single thing happening around you and by so doing by that acknowledgement by that acceptance, that you are not responsible, and you are not in control of everything. It relieves you of the stress that you carry, believing that you have to do it all that you have to answer to it all, and that you are ultimately responsible for it all.

"Center by connecting to that spiritual being, that part of yourself that allows you to know that you are not alone"

.

.

When you start the day with a spiritual practice and in these pauses, take time to remind yourself of that center what it does for you is that it sets the temperature of the day. You are the thermostat, and by setting the temperature by connecting spiritually like a thermostat, if you experienced situations that take you away from that set point automatically, the thermostat will respond by kicking in or turning off in order to maintain that set equilibrium.

These policies allow you to take that time whatever that practice is for you. Is it prayer? Is it reading a devotional? Is it reading your Bible? Is it meditating? Is it chanting? Whatever it is for you in this pause, press the pause button on everything around you and allow yourself the time to center by connecting to that spiritual being, that part of yourself that allows you to know that you are not alone, and that are not in control of everything. It gives you that place, to just take a deep breath in and release, take that deep breath in and to release. In releasing all of the worry, all of the fear, all of the anxiety, all of the uncertainty that resides in the belief that you have to figure it all out. That you are the one that has the answers, that the book always stops with you.

In this pause, you connect to the bigger source that allows you to reset and to have that thermostat at the set point that, you know, whatever comes down the pike, that centering activity helps to bring you back to this place of equity. In this moment, you are making the choice to pour into yourself and in pouring into yourself, you embrace the unlimited nature of you because you have connected to that unlimited source. Not even the sky I the limit God Bless!
