Have you ever gotten on a plane β and have the pilot advise that it’s going to be bumpy?
How did that make you feel?
Did you feel less anxious? π More anxious?
As I listened to the pilot advise on the flight conditions on my way back from Washington DC this weekend, I felt somewhat anxious because I really dislike turbulence. BUT I was comforted by a number of elements….

The pilot had successfully flown back and forth that morning under these conditions
β
The flight had a duration so I knew it wouldn’t last always
β
The flight attendants were calm and matter of fact as they advised what services would be available during the flight
β
I had no control so worry wouldn’t change anything. I had to LET GO and TRUST that God and his copilot would get us where we needed to go safely.

Planes are designed and built to withstand turbulence, SO AM I!

In the midst of the turbulence, I had to PAUSE, close my eyes, breathe and focus on these thoughts that ADDED comfort and displaced those negative emotions of fear and worry that take away from me.
IT WASN'T AS BAD AS I EXPECTED! Was that because it wasn’t bumpy? NOOO!!! It’s because I prepared mentally!!!
Whatever turbulent situation you may be facing, PAUSE, take your breaths and let this reflection add HOPE πΈ to you
