Hello, positivity, posse. Welcome back to the positivity pause. I am so excited to be back with you again today, and I'm even more thrilled that you have taken the time, the press, the pause button to pour into you. This is the island of positivity. Where we redefine, recharge, reset, before we resume. It is so incredibly important to your mental, emotional, and physical health to take pauses, to allow for your bodies to rest, for your mind to rest. We have been on the self care series because many times you might ask, “What do I do during a positivity pause?”… These pauses are pauses of restoration and help so today we are on the “R” of self care and the “R” of self care is about resting, the importance of pausing for rest.

We know that even God rested on the seventh day. There is nothing that we do that does not require a period of pause and recovery. Everything within our bodies and our minds require that we take the time to rest. Even things that are good for us, like exercise requires rest and recovery. It is not possible to continue nonstop without a period of rest. The day has been divided into night and daylight, nighttime and daytime because our bodies cycle, our bodies require rest.

Nature has cycles of rest and rest is a period of healing, It is a period of repairing, It is a period of recovery. So for us to allow our bodies, for you to allow your body to function most optimally, it is necessary for you to give your body the periods of rest to rejuvenate, to repair, to recover. Rest is allowing yourself, ensuring that you sleep the appropriate numbers of hours that allows the repair cycles to be most effective.

"Pressing the pause button, even if for five minutes to sit quietly, to just stop for a moment to allow your mind and body just have a period of stillness."

Your brain on high alert during the day requires periods of rest. Studies show that Alzheimer's is associated with inadequate amounts of sleep. When you take a pause to rest, it is not only sleeping at night but preparation, for sleep. How are you preparing your mind and body for sleep, for rest? As you take this pause before you sleep, it is a pause to bring you into center away from devices, away from distractions, preparing your body and mind to be ushered in to the period of rest.

Even throughout the day resting is important. Pressing the pause button, even if for five minutes to sit quietly, to just stop for a moment to allow your mind and body just have a period of stillness. Your digestive processes optimize when you are in a period of rest. Every process within your body benefits from these periods of just stopping to allow for recharging and refreshing.

So as you give yourself permission and the opportunity to stop and just sit still at regular intervals during the day you give your body and your mind the opportunity to just pause. As you take this pause to rest, your emotional, mental, and physical health reaps the benefits and manifests the advantages of taking those times for rest and recovery. On The Island of Positivity these are the moments for redefining recharging resetting before we resume that allows you to care for you and to be ushered into your optimal place of well being. God Bless.
